As you step through the century-old front door of Stuart Hill Bed & Breakfast and Event Venue in Martinsville, Virginia, you’re welcomed by a grand chandelier-lit hallway and an elegant staircase that reflects over a century of southern hospitality.
The original hardwood floors and detailed crown molding tell the story of this historic Colonial Revival farmhouse near Spencer, VA. Sunlight fills the halls by day, while candlelit windows offer a warm evening welcome to guests attending weddings, family gatherings, and peaceful getaways in the Blue Ridge foothills of southern Virginia.
We currently offer four guest rooms tucked away in the peaceful southern corner of the house. Enjoy warm afternoon sunlight, tranquil evening sunsets and beautiful garden views. Come home to Stuart Hill, your comfortable home away from home.
At Stuart Hill, we welcome guests ages 12 and up, with occupancy limited to two guests per room unless custom accommodations have been made prior to booking.
The Spencer Suite
Awaken to the golden glow of a gorgeous southern sunrise streaming through your bedroom window and the smell of fresh coffee brewing in Stuart Hill’s new master guest room, The Spencer Suite.
What better way to spend your time of relaxation and respite than in this lovely ground floor accessible, spacious accommodation (more than 600 sq. ft.) that boasts of two rooms as well as a full private bath!
The Cavalier Suite
Enjoy our premier Cavalier Suite with a comfortable, queen-size four poster bed and adjoining private bathroom complete with vintage dressing table and chair.
There’s always room to relax in the Victorian press-back rocker or on the lovely antique love seat that beckons you to sit and enjoy the beautiful countryside view and perhaps even to catch up on your reading!
The Magnolia Rose Guest Room
Our classic Magnolia Rose Guest Suite has one queen-size bed. This room offers a private detached bathroom featuring a large vintage cast iron claw foot tub.
Relax in the wingback chair as the sun shines warmly through the lace-draped windows and take in the garden views of the lovely weeping cherry tree and giant southern magnolias.
The Periwinkle Suite
The warm afternoon sunlight streams through the lace curtains of this guest room and its sets its periwinkle walls aglow glow with lovely shades of lavender and blue. Complete with a king-size four-poster bed, this spacious guest room for two has its own private bathroom.
Enjoy a moment in the over-sized antique rocking chair and look out through the huge windows for a beautiful view of the weeping cherry tree and woods where periwinkle grows along the sloping trails to the rustic barn below.
